Baby Sleep Aids
For example, some parents swear by mechanical or wind-up swings for gently tiring baby out, and they would certainly appear to be a boon to parents who do not have the time or the energy to create bedtime rituals of their own. So, it would not be unfair to suggest that, every once in a while, a moving plastic seat or mechanical swing may be more sleep inducing than a familiar pair of arms. Perhaps it is not something that you have ever considered but the fact is that some babies will automatically associate a parent's body with play and stimulation and will not drift off to sleep when you are trying to be a ‘human swing’. For such babies, a mechanical swing is far less interesting, not to say downright boring, and therefore it can form a very useful and reliable part of your sleep-ritual repertoire. Equally, you should also appreciate that babies who do associate Mom and Dad with play and stimulation are generally notoriously resistant to mechanical mother substitutes and will often vehemently protest anything less than the real thing! So, before you decide to invest your money in such a swing, you might want to see if there is any way that you and baby can have a ‘trial run’, perhaps by borrowing one for a week or two. In this way, you can see whether you baby is comfortable with the idea for more than the one night that it will take for the novelty to wear off! There is little doubt that gadgets to help get your baby to sleep are now very big business indeed, simply because tired parents are going to be happy to pay almost any price for peace! But, be wary of becoming too reliant on them, and, as far as possible, only use such gadgets and gizmos as a last resort when you have tried everything that you know and it has already failed! It's all right to use them when simply nothing else that you try is actually working, but allowing your baby to get too acclimatized to artificial sleep inducers may be unhealthy.Solving Sleeplessness in Infants Will Help You...
